"Maybe One Day"

I found this on the net yesterday, a "What If" drawing by Stefano Pavan, illustrating the question,"“What if Kamandi met Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers?”.
Is this amazingly cool or what?
I've talked about Kamandi before on my blog a truly classic Jack Kirby comic.  Captain Victory is another Kirby comic from the early 80's.  Merge the two and I think I've found the Campaign I've been looking for!
Mwha ha ha!!!

  1. Kamandi is one of my favorite Kirby books. Captain Victory isn't perfect, but it had its moments, that's for sure. I like the fact that Kamandi has Orion's gear in the pic.

  2. I hear ya Aos, If memory serves there were tons of hints that Captain Victory was Orion's son, but Kirby couldn't come out and say that cause Orion was owned by DC comics.

  3. I've never read Capt. Victory, but I dig some Kamandi.

  4. CV isn't bad, it's just uneven- whatever, it's totally worth a look, because as I said above there are definitely some moments of pure Kirby magic in it. I think a lot of the problems come down to the inking. And Bill I'm pretty sure you are correct about the CV Orion issue.
FWiW, I have an entire run of Kamandi I never tire of it.
