Survive This!! War for the Wasteland

Survive This!! War for the Wasteland by Bloat Games, has just launched on Kickstarter.  I picked up the earlier Ashcan version and have been looking forward to the final product for some time. It very much reminds me of Rifts (in a good way!). I first posted about this back in 2023. It is directly compatible with all the other Survive This!! products, which is cool! As an OSR product it is easy to pull in stuff from my gaming library!  Needless to say I backed the kickstarter!

More to come!

SURVIVE THIS!! War for the Wasteland

Happy Sunday everyone!  Hope you all are all doing well.  We've had a series of bad storms here that have made life a bit hectic (loss of power, internet, even water at times), but we are good.  I just wanted to do a quick post about a product I literally just picked up this morning.  It is from Bloat Games.  It is the Ashcan version of Survive This!! War for the Wasteland. I've only just skimmed it so far, but wow I love it!  This is the Ashcan version, and even though it is not complete, it is loaded with cool stuff.  If the Ashcan version gets enough support, Bloat Games will do a full version with new art etc.  I wanted to post about it here to share the love! With the Christmas in July Sale, its just a few bucks, and in my opinion well worth it.  I love Post Apocalyptic gaming and have always been a big fan of the Rifts setting, and this reminds me a lot of Rifts, but in a much more playable OSR way.  I'll be posting more about this one soon. Hoping I can get my group to try it out, been running alot of 5E Fantasy and I have a hankerin' to get back to my Post Apoclyptic roots!

Rise of Magic, Rifts Chaos Earth

I recently picked up Rise of Magic, a Rifts Chaos Earth;RPG Sourcebook.  It was a great price and the cover was so cool I couldn't resist.

While I'm not currently running a Chaos Earth game, or Rifts, or even a Palladium System game, I have a soft spot for Palladium's content, especially Rifts.  I ran a wild and crazy Rifts campaign back in the 90's.  We had a blast with it, Mega-Damage, hatchling dragons, Bursters! power armor!  Was loads of fun.  I still think the Rifts setting is one of my favorites, you can do anything with it and customize the game to meet you and your players needs.  Now the system, well it is dated, but at the time we enjoyed it.

So where does that leave me now?  All of the Palladium stuff is a gold mine of material to use in your games. I am running a D&D game right now, and believe it or not, I have some ideas/abilities that I will be pulling from this book for some NPC's and encounters.  I have a player that has gamed as long as I have, and has a vast knowledge of the D&D "verse" monsters, spells, magic, so I love pulling in content from other non-D&D sources to put in my campaign to keep the players guessing and on their toes.
