It's hard to say, JD. I wonder if it re-imagines Escape/Conquest/(and perhaps even Battle). Essentially, its perhaps just a "prequel to PotA" and jettisons the other films.
Anyway, that trailer looks cool, but like Bill, I remain cautious.
I'm really excited about this one.The human like expressions of the apes bother me. This is a good thing because it means that Weta is doing their jobs at creating engaging characters. Yeah I want to see this yesterday.
I will admit that this looks nifty. BUT... I am going to be a bit on a nay-sayer. Even if the number of primates on the planet were increased by 10 fold, they would not pose any form of threat to humanity. None. There are 7 BILLION of us. We still have munitions from *WW II*. There are some 80 million privately owned (and registered) firearms in the US.
Apes pose no risk to us. To me, this comes across as another excuse for a non-zombie, zombie movie. Which is fine. But it isn't something I am really interested in.
I love me some ape movies. But I think I will still be awaiting for a truly epic ape movie.

ReplyDeleteI do hope it is a good one Zombiecowboy!
ReplyDeleteoooo, it sort of falls into the classic story line between escape and conquest.
